Udaipur to be among three cities in Low Carbon Mobility Plan
Urban Improvement Trust held a meeting today under the leadership of Roop Kumar Khurana, Chairman, UIT. Secretary UIT and related officials were also present in the meeting wherein certain important decisions were taken.

Various discussions took place in the meeting regarding new development plans. The most important of all was the Low Carbon Mobility Plan. In this plan, the smoke that goes out in the atmosphere and pollutes the air will be minimized with the help of a hired company.
“We have signed an MOU with United Nations Environment Program, Denmark. We will be coordinating and providing logistics support to them. The Urban Mass Transit Company, Delhi, will be consulting UNEP in this program. Udaipur is among the three cities, others being Vishakhapatnam and Rajkot, which are included for LCMP project in India”, said R. P. Sharma, Secretary, UIT.
When asked about the City Drainage System, Sharma said that, nothing regarding that was discussed in the meeting today.
Other issues that were looked upon were, permission regarding the construction of proposed 500 EWS (G+3) level flats under the affordable housing policy, allotment of land for graveyard, construction of houses (phase 2) for low income class in the southern extension plan.etc.
