Savan goes dry, Bhadrapad experiences rain…Udaipur recorded 30 mm of rain in around 2 hours in a day. Tuesday afternoon proved to be a good day for Udaipur public in the sense that people craving for rain showers were extremely delighted to have a good amount of rain after a long spell.

A number of areas in Udaipur district experienced light to medium rain. Clouds were constantly playing hide and seek in the city. Around 12 noon on Tuesday, humidity was its irritating heights. The temperature was once again giving a feel of hot summer when it suddenly started raining around 12:45 and this continued for about an hour. Certain areas experienced light rains whereas it was medium in some places. Pocket rain was also experienced until evening. Weather was at its best with these showers and the city heaved a sigh of relief. Public could be seen enjoying at various spots of Udaipur.

As per irrigation department, Bagoliya had 10 mm of rain, Jhadol got 12 mm and Nai experienced 19 mm of rain on Tuesday. By 5 p.m., Udaipur city had recorded 30 mm of rain. The result was similar to every monsoon season where streets were full of water, vehicles moved at a snail’s pace and since drains are blocked, there was too much of filth flowing on roads.

As per weather forecast, Udaipur is going to experience rain showers for 2 more days. A depression has been spotted on the coastal areas of Andhra Pradesh and Odisha. This depression has moved to Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra and this is the main reason behind rains in Udaipur and surrounding areas. A number of areas in Rajasthan are likely to have heavy rainfall and pocket rains in the coming 2 to 3 days.
