UdaipurTimes, Sept 14, 2026 - The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert for heavy rain in 36 districts of Rajasthan. The current spell of rainfall activity is owing to a low-pressure system in the Bay of Bengal, over southwest Madhya Pradesh and northern Vidharbha, which is expected to last until September 16.

An alert for rain today, September 14, has been issued for several districts including Udaipur, Jaipur, Alwar, Bharatpur, Bhilwara, Churu, Dausa, Kota, Jaisalmer, Jhunjhunu and Bundi. There is forecast for strong winds in many areas, reaching speeds of 60 to 70 kms per hour.

There was a huge sense of relief among city-goers in Udaipur on Sunday, September 13, when, after a long break, rain lashed the city for the second consecutive day . This rainy spell is expected to continue for the next two days in Udaipur.

Elsewhere in the State, on Sunday Jhalawar received 33 mm of rainfall while Kushalgarh in Banswara recorded 32 mm of rainfall. The day’s maximum temperature reached nearly 40°C in western Rajasthan with Sri Ganganagar recording 39.9°C.
