April Ends on Record Hot Note

Udaipur, April 30, 2025 — After a brief spell of mild weather, the heat has made a strong comeback across Rajasthan, with temperatures soaring to near heatwave conditions. The daytime temperature is currently hovering around 43°C, and the night temperature has risen by 5 degrees to 28.4°C.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), yesterday, April 29, the maximum temperature was recorded at 42.9°C and the minimum at 28.4°C. On April 28, the maximum was 42.1°C and the minimum 23.5°C. This indicates that the daytime temperature rose by 0.8 degrees and the night-time temperature surged by 5 degrees. As a result, the daytime temperature is 3.1 degrees above normal, and the night-time temperature is 4.7 degrees above normal.
April has seen a significant rise in temperatures with maximum temperatures surging nearly 7 degrees and minimum temperatures going up by 13 degrees.
A fresh spell of dust storms, thunderstorms and rain is expected to return across the State and IMD has issued alerts for several cities. From May 1, a Western Disturbance will become active. While Udaipur division is expected to remain dry next week with no major weather changes, IMD has forecast rainfall in Jaipur, Ajmer and Bharatpur divisions between today, April 30, and May 4.
