After the heavy rain last night, city’s Pichola and Swaroop Sagar Lakes started overflowing. All four gates of Swaroop Sagar were opened last night flowing into the canal.
The flow drenched the UIT Bridge, blocking the road going towards Chetak and Saheli Marg. People residing close to Ayad River were warned of possible flood last night however the water level decreased as the rain stopped. One gate of Mansi Vakal Dam was also opened last evening.
According to the met department, more heavy rainfall is expected in next 48 hours. Udaipur Administrative department including Irrigation, UMC and Police are alerted for any calamity.
Chota Madar is overflowing while water level of Bada Madar has also increased substantially.
