Cold wave grips Udaipur

A fall in the temperatures and Udaipur is beginning to feel the chill. With heavy snowfall up north, Lake City experienced a sudden drop in temperatures resulting in less traffic on roads as early as 3:30 p.m. Even yesterday temperature went down to minimum below 7 degrees as compared to 11.4 degrees on Monday. Tibetan market in Samor Baag Udaipur where woollens are sold every year is enjoying the crowds thronging in at a high rate. The Tibetans can now be seen happy as a good sale is expected with the increasing cold.

Tourists have suddenly opted out of boat rides at Fateh Sagar. They can be seen flocking the markets only in the early hours of the day. Cold winds have sent a chill up the spine so even the local people are not seen in open eating areas of the city at night.

People are even asked to stay prepared for the change in train schedules as fog has caused delays in a lot of cities which certainly affects the entire rail network. Children are also not found playing outdoors for long due to examination time in schools. People like security guards can be seen lighting up fire for relief while on night duties.

Schools have also shifted their time. As per message received from St. Pauls Sr Secondary School, classes of students from Grade 1 to Grade 10 have been shifted to 9 am. The school has undertaken the step on the directions of District Collector
