Cold Wave Tightens Grip on Rajasthan as Temperatures Dip
Mt Abu turns coldest in the State with mercury dipping to 4°C; night-time temperatures in 11 cities below 10°C
Udaipur, Nov 11, 2025 - The northern parts of India are experiencing chilly conditions because of snowfall in the hills. As a result, in the coming days, the effect of cold winds descending from the mountains is expected to intensify, which may push night-time temperatures even lower. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), most parts of Rajasthan are likely to remain dry over the next week, during which the minimum temperature may drop by another 1–2 degrees.
Udaipur is experiencing a drop in temperatures with Monday, November 10, recording a fall of 0.6 degrees in both day-time and night-time temperatures. The maximum temperature was recorded at 28.2°C and the minimum at 11.9°C.
Night-time temperatures in 11 cities of Rajasthan were recorded below 10°C on Monday. The lowest minimum temperature in the State was recorded at Mount Abu, at 4°C. Apart from this, the minimum temperatures were 6.8°C in Fatehpur, 6.9°C in Nagaur, 8.7°C in Dausa and Lunkaransar, 9°C in Alwar, 9.1°C in Sirohi, 9.6°C in Churu, 9.7°C in Ajmer and Karauli, and 9.8°C in Pilani.
The weather department explains that if the night temperature is recorded at 5°C or more below normal, it is considered a cold wave. On Monday, the following cities recorded below normal night-time temperatures – Ajmer (7.5 degrees), Vanasthali (4.3 degrees), Kota (4.2 degrees) and Jodhpur (4.4 degrees).
