Increase in maximum temperatures by 2 to 3°C is also likely in the next 3 to 4 days; school timings in Jaipur revised owing to intense heat

April 22, 2025 – In Jaipur district, private and government school timings have been revised to 7:30 am until 11:30 am owing to the intense heat in the district. An order to this effect was issued by District Collector Dr Jitendra Kumar Soni on April 21 for students up to Grade 8.

However, timings for Grades 9 to 12, as well as for staff and ongoing examinations, will remain unchanged.

Meanwhile, there has been a noticeable drop in both day and night temperatures across the State, resulting in relief from heatwave conditions in most cities. On Monday, April 21, daytime temperatures in most cities were recorded below 40°C. However, three cities reported maximum daytime temperatures above 41°C - Pilani at 41.2°C, Kota at 41.1°C and Barmer at 41.6°C.

Night temperatures have seen a significant drop as well. In Pali, the minimum temperature dropped by 7°C in the past 24 hours. The highest minimum temperature during the night was recorded in Jaipur at 27.7°C.

According to the Meteorological Centre, dry weather is expected to persist in Rajasthan over the coming days and an increase in maximum temperatures by 2 to 3°C is also likely in the next 3-4 days.

In Udaipur today, April 22, the minimum temperature today is likely to hover around 25°C, while the maximum temperature might reach 38°C. The mercury level is expected to hover around 37°C throughout the day, with the wind speed around 6.51.
