Udaipur, June 20, 2025 - Monsoon has arrived early in Rajasthan, entering via Gujarat this year for the first time in seven years. The low-pressure area that formed over the Arabian Sea on June 17 moved towards Gujarat and from there reached southeastern Rajasthan. Usually, monsoon arrives in Jaipur only after June 28. Following its entry, half of the State has started to see rainy days with 11 districts witnessing it on June 18 and four more on June 19. It is expected that the monsoon will cover Rajasthan within 4-5 days. 

In Udaipur, the weather remained dry and humid despite cloud cover throughout the day. The daytime temperature rose by 2 degrees, reaching 32°C. However, it is still 5.5 degrees below the average of 37.5°C. Similarly, the nighttime temperature also increased by 2.5 degrees, reaching 27.5°C, which is 1.1 degrees higher than the average of 26.4°C.

In Banswara, 5.5 inches of rain fell in just five hours, while Bhilwara received 4.5 inches. Additionally, heavy rainfall occurred in Kota, Banswara, Jalore, Bundi, Jhalawar, Tonk, Bhilwara, and Pali. Jaipur recorded 4 mm of rainfall. 

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has said western Rajasthan may see good rainfall within the next two days.

There is a possibility of light rain, thunderstorms and wind in Udaipur district until June 23. Isolated areas in the region may experience heavy rainfall. This monsoon is likely to bring above-average rainfall and the average monsoon rainfall for Udaipur is set at 617.7 mm.
