Flood like situation in many areas of Rajasthan

Rajasthan was craving for monsoon hardly a month back. Scorching heat and humidity had made it difficult for the masses to survive. Water scarcity was the biggest issue that we feared as this would have disrupted lives to a great extent. Now that the monsoon has come back, the situation has gone fearful in a lot of areas in Rajasthan.

The last 2-3 days proved to be good for Udaipur as water has started flowing into the lakes and all hopes are on that the city will get its beauty back. But there are areas in the state that are facing difficult situations. Flood like situations have begun in Kota, Baran, Bundi, Pali, Jodhpur, Bharatpur, Ajmer, Bhilwara, Bikaner and some villages are already submerged in water. People have lost their loved ones, vehicles have been damaged, buildings have fallen and the areas are converted into islands. Connectivity has been lost with 20 villages, Jaipur-Bhilwara highway was closed on Friday due to heavy rains. Baran, Kota to Sawai Madhopur and Jaipur route was disrupted.

Bagheri ka naka dam was full on Friday night and started overflowing around 10 p.m. It has received around 15 feet of water in the past 24 hours and has reportedly over flown the 13th time since its construction.

There are reports of kelu (tile) houses falling down due to heavy rain in Kotda village which took life of an old couple living inside. Railway track at Goram Ghat got blocked with debris and Mavli-Mewar trains have been stopped.

Overall the rain is the most wanted thing and most welcome and prayers are on to keep everyone safe. People are requested to stay away from areas of heavy flow, be careful while taking selfies. The most well known fact that goes this way “पहला पानी अपनी बलि माँगता है”, hence all are requested to be aware of this and stay away from water bodies in full swing, water flowing over the bridges. DO NOT ACCEPT ANY CHALLENGE AND DO NOT DISPLAY STUNTS THAT MIGHT BE FATAL TO YOUR LIFE.
