Good rainfall over the past 4 days has finally led to the much awaited overflow of Bada Madar Lake. Bada Madar is the prime feeder of Lake Fateh Sagar.

This water level increase has come from heavy rainfall in Gogunda, Iswal, Wadarwada, Bhadwi Guda and nearby catchment area of Bada Madar.

Meanwhile, lake Pichola is getting continous water from Sisarma and already above the 7 feet mark. Pichola has a maximum capacity of 11 feet and once water reaches closer to that mark, gates between Pichola and Fateh Sagar. That results in fast rise of Fateh Sagar level with water flowing from Madar and Pichola. Pichola link gate is closed after Fateh Sagar reaches 11 feet.

Fateh Sagar has a maximum capacity of 14 feet. The entire city awaits the overflow of Fateh Sagar – by far the most picturesque scene of monsoon.
