Heavy Rain Alert in Rajasthan from Sept 2

Udaipur, Sept 1, 2026 - The weather pattern in Rajasthan is expected to change, with rain likely in several parts of the State. A fresh spell of rain is likely to begin from September 2. A heavy rainfall alert has been issued for six districts for Wednesday while a Yellow alert has also been issued for more than 10 districts for September 3 and 4.

According to the Meteorological Centre, Jaipur, a fresh spell of rain may begin in some parts of the Bharatpur and Jaipur divisions from September 2-3. After that, between September 4 and 7, rainfall activity is likely to increase across the Bharatpur, Kota, Jaipur, Ajmer and Udaipur divisions, with thunderstorms expected in several areas.

This change in weather may provide some relief to areas that have been waiting for rain for the past several days. This August, Rajasthan received less than 68 mm of rainfall, making it the second-lowest rainfall recorded in the past 11 years, say reports. According to the department, rainfall in September is also expected to remain below normal.

On Monday, only Dungarpur received light rainfall, while the weather remained clear in all other districts. Most parts of Rajasthan experienced sunshine throughout the day. However, temperatures saw a slight decline owing to the prevailing winds. The highest temperature in the State was recorded at 38.7°C in Sri Ganganagar. In Udaipur,  the daytime temperature in the city increased by 0.4°C with the maximum temperature recorded at 30.9°C.
