Heavy Rain Continues Across Parts of Rajasthan
Sept 4, 2025 - The spell of heavy rainfall continues in several parts of Rajasthan. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), a low-pressure area has formed over the Bay of Bengal, which is expected to move forward within the next 24 hours. As a result, monsoon conditions are likely to persist in Rajasthan for the next week and there may be an increase in heavy rainfall activity across nearly 21 districts in the eastern and southeastern regions of the State.
On September 5, isolated places in the Kota, Udaipur, Ajmer and Bharatpur divisions are likely to witness heavy to very heavy rainfall.
On Tuesday, September 2, moderate to heavy rain was recorded in some parts of Bharatpur, Jaipur, Kota and Shekhawati regions.
Meanwhile, the southwest monsoon, says the IMD, will see a delayed withdrawal probably after September 17 or maybe even extending into early October. The normal trend is withdrawal begining from the first week of September but the past five years have seen late monsoon withdrawal.
The country is still reeling under monsoon fury in many States. Punjab is facing its worst floods since 1988 with all 23 districts in the State hit by heavy rainfall in which 30 people have died and crops on 1.48 lakh hectares of land been destroyed. Heavy rainfall in Delhi continues to wreak havoc with Yamuna river in Delhi-NCR region crossing the danger mark and leading to heavy floods.
