Heavy Rainfall Alert for 13 States

Weather department forecasts thunderstorms and lightning mainly in northeast India; east and west Rajasthan may see isolated rainfall on February 19 and 20

Udaipur, February 18, 2025 - The cold is gradually decreasing with minimum temperatures now crossing above 15°C. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the maximum temperature yesterday, February 17, was recorded in Udaipur at 30.8°C and the minimum at 15.1°C. On February 16, the maximum was 31°C and minimum 14.5°C. The maximum temperature is 2.6°C higher than normal while the minimum temperature is 4.4°C higher than normal.

Meanwhile, the sky in the city remained overcast yesterday afternoon signalling seasonal changes. A western disturbance has also become active leading to weather changes in the northern, central and western regions of India, says IMD. West Rajasthan is expected to experience isolated light rainfall tomorrow, February 19, while east Rajasthan will experience similar weather conditions, with light rainfall expected on February 19 and 20.

The IMD has issued a heavy rainfall warning for 13 States, mainly across northeast India, because of a cyclonic circulation forming over the Bay of Bengal. Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan and Muzaffarabad may experience thunderstorms and lightning on February 19-20.
