Heavy Rainfall Forecast for Udaipur Division on July 12-13
Monsoon to become active again; water inflows into Fateh Sagar as Swaroop Sagar-Fateh Sagar link canal opens
Udaipur, July 10, 2025 - Udaipur is once again waiting for monsoon rains. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the maximum temperature on Wednesday, July 9, was 30.6°C and the minimum was 25°C. The day before the maximum temperature recorded was 30.8°C and the minimum 25°C.
Following good rainfall in the city and catchment areas recently, there has been a strong inflow of water into the Sisarma river, raising the water level of Lake Pichola to more than 10 feet as of July 9. As a result, the gates of the Swaroop Sagar–Fateh Sagar link canal were opened, allowing water to be released into Fateh Sagar.
Across the State, the monsoon is expected to become active again. According to the IMD, the low-pressure area over West Bengal and Jharkhand is likely to advance in the next 2-3 days. Rainfall activity is expected to increase in eastern Rajasthan starting July 10 and in western Rajasthan from July 12. Heavy rainfall is forecast in Kota and Bharatpur divisions on July 11, and very heavy rainfall is expected in Kota, Bharatpur, Jaipur, Ajmer, and Udaipur divisions on July 12-13.
The monsoon trough line is currently passing through Amritsar and Chandigarh. Owing to its influence, there is a chance of light to moderate rainfall with thunder in parts of Bharatpur, Kota, Jaipur and Bikaner divisions today, July 9. In some places in Bharatpur division, heavy rainfall is also likely.
