Majority areas of Udaipur city witnessed a heavy downpour since last evening, with rains coming down heavily all through late evening and across the night till about 4 in the morning.

This brought a much needed relief to the City of Lakes, as over the last month, the town has been waiting for rains desperately.  Water logging was visible in a lot of colonies of the city, and the good part was that Sisarma, the main feeder to the lakes of Udaipur, was running at 4 1/2 feet.

Thankfully, many locations of the city that received rain over the evening and through the night, were spared of intermittent power cuts.

Jhamri river, which is the source of water for Jaisamand, is also nearing overflow, as is the Sandol anicut in Jhadol.  Lets hope for above average rains, so that the water bodies of the area a back to their beautiful water filled best.
