IMD Issues Cold Wave Alert in State

Owing to cold winds from the north, Rajasthan will see chilly conditions once again; weather office issues Yellow alert for 14 districts

Udaipur, February 6, 2025 - Rain and fog in the last 24 hours in several parts of Rajasthan have led to a drop in minimum temperatures. The effect of western disturbance has led to light rain and drizzle in many districts.

Owing to cold winds blowing in from the northern parts of the country, Rajasthan will see chilly conditions once again. Minimum temperatures will see a dip of around 3 degrees Centigrade.

According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), the highest temperature in the State was recorded at 29.5 degree Celsius in Chittorgarh yesterday, February 5. The minimum temperature was recorded at 3.9 degree Celsius in Fatehpur of Sikar. 

IMD has forecast cold wave issuing a Yellow alert in 14 districts of the State today, including Jhunjhunu, Sikar, Hanumangarh, Jaisalmer, Churu, Jodhpur, Pali, Ganganagar, Barmer, Sriganganagar, Bikaner, Jalore and Nagaur. Weather will stay dry in the coming week while the next 48 hours could see minimum temperature drop by 2-3 degrees Centigrade, says IMD. During this period, the minimum temperature in some areas of the Shekhawati region is expected to be at 3-5 degrees Centigrade.
