This news brings relief. One of the most important dams in the region and an important source of drinking water for a wide area, Mansi Vakal dam has touched 577 metre mark. It means that areas connected with this dam for water supply will now be supplied water regularly.
Since Madri dam overflowed and water was constantly flowing into it, the level of Mansi Vakal touched 577 metres by Sunday morning. Akodara dam has also touched 50 feet with its capacity being 60 feet. Once this dam overflows, it will provide water to Mansi Vakal dam which increases the possibilities of the dam getting full in no time.
Apart from this, level of Jaisamand is also rising by 3 inches per day as catchment areas are still getting rain showers. With this speed, the lake is likely to overflow in 10 to 15 days. Jaisamand Lake is also a source of drinking water for Udaipur and nearby areas. The lake merely requires 30 inches of water for the overflow.
