2 lakes are overflowing together after a span of 44 years. Good rains in the catchment area are responsible for this long awaited scene. This monsoon season is giving enough chances to the city to have fun in the rain. The sight of overflowing lakes is soothing enough for everyone.

Rajsamand and Jaisamand lakes have overflown together after 44 years. Both these lakes have a special place in the history of Mewar. Last time these lakes overflowed in 1973. After 1973, history came to a stand still for these lakes and 44 years later, public overjoyed by seeing these lakes overflowing. Rajsamand lake with 30 feet level and Jaisamand lake with 27.5 ft overflowed this season. Gomti river was on its full swing.

In 1994 there was hopeof overflow, but Rajsamand was short by 1 ½ ft. The rising water level created curiosity but monsoon went weak in its final stage and the lake could not overflow. It was only Jaisamand that danced its way in 1994.

Chota Madar splashed out due to abundant rains in the catchment area. Even Bada Madar enjoyed the overflow as a result of which Ayad river also flew in full swing and captured hearts. The two gates of Udaisagar were lifted from 2 ½ ft to 3 ½  ft. Now it is Vallabnagar dam that will soon compete with all other overflowing dams. Constant inflow in Sisarma has given a good reason for the Swaroop Sagar gates to stay open. Akodara dam gates are also up. Somkagdar,Ogna, Harchand, Kejad, Bandora, Sukher ka naka, Ambamata dam are all about to overflow.Public enjoyed in the lake at Vasol road in Rajsamand.

Udaisagar had 53 mm of rain, Vallabhnagar 6 mm, Godunda 44 mm, Somkagdar 40 mm, Devas 42 mm, Madar 16 mm and Nai had 25 mm of rain.
