Light-to-Moderate Rain Alert from Aug. 8

Udaipur, Aug 7, 2025 - An alert for rainfall has again been issued for Rajasthan starting Friday, August 8. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), eastern Rajasthan is likely to receive light to moderate rainfall at isolated places accompanied by thunderstorms over the next 2 to 3 days.

Between August 8 and 12, light to moderate rain with thunderstorms is expected in some parts of the Bharatpur, Kota, Udaipur, Ajmer and Jaipur divisions, the IMD said.

With rainfall remaining elusive, Udaipur city yesterday experienced temperatures 1°C warmer than normal. The maximum temperature rose by 0.5°C to reach 31.5°C. The average maximum for this month is 30.5°C. On the other hand, the night was 0.3°C cooler than normal, with the minimum temperature dropping by 1.1°C to 23.4°C.

Meanwhile, water inflow into the city's lakes have slowed down. As of yesterday, the level in Lake Pichola and Fateh Sagar remained stable at 10.5 feet. Sisarma river maintained a flow of two feet while Nandeshwar channel had a flow of six inches.
