Mavath, Temperature Swings Likely in Parts of Rajasthan

A strong Western Disturbance is set to become active in Rajasthan from Thursday; light to moderate rain with thunder likely between January 26-28

Udaipur, Jan 21, 2026 - There is a strong possibility that a new and powerful Western Disturbance will become active in some parts of Rajasthan from Thursday (January 22), leading to mavath (winter rainfall). According to the weather department, temperature fluctuations will continue owing to the impact of this.

Another new Western Disturbance is expected to become active between January 26 and 28. This may lead to light-to-moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning in parts of the Jodhpur and Bikaner divisions, as well as the Shekhawati region.

On Tuesday, the State experienced foggy conditions, with dense fog covering more than 10 districts. In Udaipur, the maximum temperature recorded over the past 24 hours was 24.4 °C, which was 0.2 degrees above normal. The minimum temperature in the past 24 hours was recorded at 8.5 °C, which was 0.6 degrees above normal.
