Monsoon blessings-1 inch of rain in Udaipur
Heavy rains expected in the next 48 hours.
Udaipur city was blessed to have an inch of rainfall on Wednesday. The first half of the day was somewhat unpredictable but during the day around 2 p.m. winds started blowing and drizzle could be experienced. This was followed by mild rain at first and then heavy rain for around half an hour with a storm like weather. Since it hasn’t rained as expected in the catchment areas, water has not yet started flowing into the lakes.

Prior to raining in the city, monsoon hit Banswara-Dungarpur area. The hills of Alsigarh also had rains as a result of which water level is rising in Devas (I) dam. Though the water level is not that high, yet it has reached to a level from where it enters the outlet gate of the tunnel from where it flows into Lake Pichola.
It kept drizzling the entire night on Wednesday. As per the met department, the low pressure in Bay of Bengal has resulted in weather changes in Mewar. Heavy rain is expected in Udaipur and the nearby regions in the coming 48 hours. Wind may blow at a speed of 30 to 40 kms/hr.
