Mt Abu Records Nearly 8 Inches of Rain on June 22
Udaipur, June 23, 2025 - The city experienced overcast conditions yesterday, June 22, throughout the day and there was light rain late in the evening in areas including Teetardi, Savina, Chitrakoot Nagar and Madhuban. This intermittent rain lasted for more than an hour.
Earlier in the day, the temperature rose by 4.1 degrees, reaching 32.4°C. The minimum temperature fell by 1.4 degrees to 24.8°C. The average maximum temperature for June is set at 37.5°C and the minimum at 26.4°C. Thus, the day remained about 5.1 degrees cooler than normal and the night was 1.6 degrees cooler than usual.
According to the weather office, a low-pressure area remained over Uttar Pradesh on June 22. Owing to its influence, most parts of eastern Rajasthan experienced light to moderate rainfall. Heavy rains occurred at some places in Kota, Udaipur and Bharatpur divisions. The highest rainfall was recorded in Mount Abu, with nearly eight inches.
The India Meteorological Department has said that owing to back-to-back weather systems forming over the Bay of Bengal in the coming days, heavy rainfall activity will increase in eastern Rajasthan from June 27 onwards. Meanwhile, heavy rain activity is expected to rise in eastern Rajasthan on June 23-24. During this period, heavy rainfall is likely in Kota, Bharatpur and Jaipur divisions. Additionally, some parts of the Bikaner division may experience increased thunderstorm and rainfall activity from June 25 to 27.
