Orange Alert for Heavy Rain on Aug 22 and 23

Udaipur, Pratapgarh, Dungarpur and Banswara districts expected to receive very heavy rainfall on Friday and Saturday

Udaipur, Aug 22, 2025 - On Thursday, August 21, Udaipur city received 10 mm of rain while the rural areas received the most rainfall. Between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm, Gogunda recorded the highest rainfall at 90 mm, followed by Jhadol with 36 mm, Alsigarh 11 mm, Madar 10 mm, Nai 4 mm, Ogna 15 mm, Udaisagar 15 mm, and Vallabhnagar 5 mm.

Continuous rainfall led to a drop in the city’s temperature. Compared to the last 24 hours, the daytime temperature fell by 1.6°C and the night-time temperature by 0.2°C. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), on Thursday, the city recorded a maximum temperature of 29.2°C and a minimum of 24.2°C. Previously, these were recorded at 30.8°C and 24.4°C respectively.

According to the Jaipur weather office, the spell of heavy rain is likely to continue for two more days. There is an alert for heavy rainfall in Udaipur district today and Saturday. IMD has issued an Orange alert for Udaipur along with Pratapgarh, Dungarpur and Banswara districts, forecasting very heavy rainfall in these areas. Rain is expected to subside from Sunday, August 24, onward.
