Pichola at 8 feet-Water to be diverted to Fathesagar

Hold your breath-Fatehsagar may return to its beautiful self soon.

Pichola at 8 feet-Water to be diverted to Fathesagar

Rains in the past 2 days have raised the level of Lake Pichola and it crossed 7.5 feet. The gates of dam at Alsigarh have been lifted at 9 inches. The water from this dam is entering Lake Pichola. Since this has raised the water level even further, water will be diverted to Fathesagar Lake via Swaroop Sagar link. It may be noted that Udaipur had 3 inches of rainfall in the past 24 hours.

Till the time this news was received, there were reports of water diversion towards Fatehsagar once Lake Pichola crosses 8 feet. If rain continues, there are all the possibilities that water will enter Fatehsagar through Madar link as well. The level of water of Chota Madar (capacity 24feet) has reached 16.5 feet and that of Bada Madar has gone to 16 feet. Once both these water bodies get enough water, then Fatehsagar is likely to experience a good rise in its water level.
