Udaipur, June 3, 2025 - Another Western Disturbance is becoming active in Rajasthan, accompanied by moisture-laden winds ready to trigger rainfall. As a result, various regions across the State are likely to experience rainfall over the next two days.

Moderate to intense rainfall accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms is very likely to occur between June 3 and 4 in most parts of Rajasthan. Districts likely to be affected include parts of the Bikaner, Ajmer, Jaipur, Bharatpur, Kota, Udaipur and Jodhpur divisions, where there is a strong possibility of thunderstorms, gusty winds, and moderate to heavy rainfall. Some areas may also experience heavy rain. This rain and storm activity is expected to decrease after June 5.

Yesterday, June 2, there was no rain, but the presence of clouds throughout the day prevented any significant rise in temperature, while night temperatures dropped by up to 2.5°C.

As part of a pre-monsoon safety measure, all gates of the Mansi Wakal Dam located near Gorana village in the Jhadol sub-division, a major project of the district, were successfully opened for five minutes yesterday for testing purposes. Public announcements were made in villages along the Mansi river prior to the gate opening to ensure local residents were informed.

The trial was conducted at a gauge level of 577.70 meters MSL, according to Raj Singh, AEN of the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED).

Each of the three gates was opened one after the other for five minutes to check for any technical issues in their opening and closing mechanisms. Each gate was opened up to 2 inches to assess its performance. The testing was supervised by Executive Engineer Akhilesh Kumar and other PHED officials.

Singh confirmed that the gate trial was successful, and senior officials present expressed satisfaction with the project's preparedness.
