Weather expected to clear up from February 21; Udaipur temperature today likely to hover around 28°C; heavy rainfall alert in several Indian States
Udaipur, February 20, 2025 - The effect of the active western disturbance over the State continued to be felt in the city yesterday. According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), cloud cover is likely to continue over the region today, too, and then clear up starting tomorrow.
Jaipur, Bikaner, Anupgarh, Sri Ganganagar, Jaisalmer, Alwar, Jhunjhunu and Sikar experienced storm followed by heavy winds, thunder and rain last evening. Some areas saw hailstorms. This caused the day-time temperature to drop by 4 degrees in these regions.
Today’s minimum temperature in Udaipur is recorded at 18°C and the maximum temperature is expected to go as high as 29°C. Throughout the day, the temperature is likely to hover around 28°C.
The maximum temperature rose by 0.1 degree in the past 24 hours, reaching 30.2°C, compared to an average of 27.9°C for this month. On the other hand, the minimum temperature also saw an increase of 0.2 degrees, recording 13.2°C, which is 2.9 degrees above the average of 10.3°C.
In Dabok, the maximum temperature was 1.8 degrees lower at 30.2°C, while the night-time temperature increased by 0.2 degrees to 16.6°C.
The weather office has forecast light rain in the northern parts of the State today, while the majority of other areas will remain mainly dry.
Meanwhile, a Yellow alert has been issued for heavy rainfall in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Assam, Mizoram, and Arunachal Pradesh, while an Orange alert was issued for Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh.
