Rain, Thunder Likely in Udaipur Over Next 2-3 Days

IMD has issued alerts for heavy rainfall and storms in many States; Udaipur temperature falls below seasonal average

 |

Udaipur, May 5, 2025 - Owing to the active Western Disturbance in the region, strong winds have cooled down the heat leading to a drop in the maximum temperature by up to 6 degrees in a span of four days. Udaipur's temperature has fallen below the seasonal average.

Overcast skies and cool breeze has dissipated the intense heat at the start of this month. Some areas in the State experienced rain and hailstorms. No heatwave is expected in the State in the coming week

According to the weather office, over the next 2 to 3 days, Udaipur will continue to get some relief from the heat. During this period, there is a high likelihood of thunderstorms and rainfall in the Udaipur region. The effects of the Western Disturbance - which has already brought rain to several districts - may continue for another 3 to 4 days.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), a Western Disturbance is currently located over central Pakistan, Punjab and north-western Rajasthan. Moisture-laden winds are flowing in from the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea. Owing to this, moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and winds is likely in divisions such as Bikaner, Jodhpur, Jaipur, Bharatpur, Ajmer, Kota and Udaipur.

Meanwhile, the IMD has forecast heavy rain, storms and gusty winds in many Indian States on May 5. Alerts have been issued for Delhi, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Odisha and others. It said that Gujarat and south-west Rajasthan will see heavy showers with lightning and gusts reaching 60 km/hour. Alert has also been issued for north-west India, including Punjab and Haryana, for rain, thunderstorms and hail.
