Rajasthan Heatwave Alert: Temperatures Cross 35°C, Barmer Nears 40°C
Rajasthan faces rising heat as temperatures cross 35°C in multiple districts; Barmer nears 40°C with heatwave conditions expected to intensify in coming days
Udaipur, April 11, 2026 - With the impact of the strong Western Disturbance lessening, temperatures are on the rise across Rajasthan. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD) Jaipur, temperatures across cities have risen by 2 to 4 degrees.
On Friday (April 10), daytime temperatures in seven cities crossed 35°C, while night-time temperatures in eight cities remained above 20°C. Barmer recorded the highest daytime temperature at 39°C, while Phalodi had the warmest night at 24.4°C. Pali, Chittorgarh, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Phalodi and Jalore also recorded maximum temperatures above 35°C. However, Udaipur remained cooler in comparison. The maximum temperature in the past 24 hours was 34.1°C, down 2.9 degrees from normal, while minimum temperature was recorded at 17.1°C, down 3.2 degrees from normal.
And over the next 2–3 days, heatwave is expected to hit the State because of the dry weather and clear skies and the mercury may cross 40°C next week. Maximum temperatures are likely to go up by 3 to 4 degrees while minimum temperatures may also rise marginally.
As per the forecast, a mild Western Disturbance may become active on April 11 leading to overcast conditions over Bikaner, Sriganganagar, Hanumangarh, Phalodi and Churu.
