Rajasthan May See Revival of Monsoon in September

Udaipur, August 31, 2026 - Rajasthan may see a revival in monsoon activity from September 2 following the movement of a new low pressure system, which is developing in the Bay of Bengal, into northwest and central India.  According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), a low-pressure area has formed over the northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining coastal areas of West Bengal and Odisha. It is highly likely to become more active and develop into a well-marked low-pressure area within the next 24 hours.

The Meteorological Centre, Jaipur, has forecast a fresh spell of rain in northeastern and eastern Rajasthan from September 3. Subsequently, from September 4 to 7, light to moderate rain may occur at isolated places in the Bharatpur, Kota, Jaipur, Ajmer and Udaipur divisions.

As per the weather office, the weather in most parts of the State is likely to remain dry or partly cloudy until September 1. August 30 witnessed clear and sunny skies with Sri Ganganagar recording 40° Celsius. Day-time temperatures went above 35° Celsius in Pilani, Phalodi, Bikaner, Churu and Jaisalmer while Barmer, Udaipur, Jaipur, Kota, Jodhpur and Ajmer stayed below 35° Celsius.
