Monsoon is likely to revive from September 27 in parts of Rajasthan, the meteorological department said on Saturday. Jaipur, Kota, Ajmer and Bharatpur will experience mild-to-moderate rainfall between September 27 and October 3, 2024, the Met office said.

Weather continues to swing between warm and chilly across the State. While some cities are seeing marginal rise in temperature since the rains petered out, other cities in Rajasthan are seeing a dip in mercury with chilly conditions in the early hours. This is due to a change in the direction of the wind with the westerly winds creating the chill.

According to the Met department, at 671 mm this season Rajasthan received 58% higher monsoon rainfall when compared to that received till September 21, 2023. It has said no rainfall is likely in western Rajasthan, including Bikaner and Jodhpur divisions.

During the monsoon season so far, central and southern India have received above-normal rainfall, the north-western region has received normal rainfall, and north-eastern parts of the country experienced below-normal rainfall. If you look at the statistics state-wise, only seven states and union territories have received below-average rainfall - Bihar, Punjab, Nagaland, Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir and Chandigarh.
