April 28, 2026 - According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), a new Western Disturbance is going to become active, along with an increase in the influence of easterly winds coming from the Bay of Bengal.

Owing to this, from Tuesday (April 28) and over the next four days, thunderstorms accompanied by strong winds blowing at a speed of 40 to 50 km/hr are likely in many parts of Rajasthan along with light rainfall at some places. This may lead to a drop of 1 to 2 degrees  in the maximum temperature.

Meanwhile, on Monday (April 27), nine cities recorded daytime temperatures of 45°C or above. Jaisalmer recorded 46.4°C, a record for this season. Furthermore, Barmer recorded 46°C, while Kota and Vanasthali were at 45.7°C. Cities like Bikaner, Churu and Pilani also touched 45°C. Sikar witnessed an overnight storm and strong winds which caused power poles to fall.

Over the past 24 hours, Udaipur’s maximum temperature was at 42°C, which is 2.2 degrees above normal, while the minimum temperature was 24°C, which is 0.3 degrees above normal.
