Rajasthan Weather: Mercury Rises as Monsoon Retreats

UdaipurTimes, Sept 21, 2026 - The weather department has forecast the withdrawal of monsoon from Rajasthan over the next three to four days. Although there is still some light rainfall in southeastern parts of the State but the weather, overall, has started turning dry, particularly in the west.
On Sunday, September 20, light rainfall fell in some places including Udaipur, Chittorgarh and Bharatpur. Rainfall of 5 mm in Bhinder and 4 mm in Kanod was recorded in Udaipur.
Light rain has been forecast for September 21 at some places in the Kota and Udaipur divisions while most other areas, including the Jodhpur and Bikaner divisions of western Rajasthan and also eastern Rajasthan, are likely to experience dry weather over the next 5–6 days.
As the monsoon withdraws, temperatures are starting to rise, particularly in the western and central parts of the State. On September 20, the highest temperature in the State was recorded in Jaisalmer at 40.3°C. Udaipur’s day temperature rose marginally by 0.6 degrees, recording a maximum temperature of 32.6°C and a minimum temperature of 22.5°C. Jaipur saw a high of 33.6°C and a low of 24.2°C.
