Rajasthan Weather: Rainfall & Hailstorm Alert Till April 9

Rajasthan witnesses rain, thunderstorms and a sharp temperature drop owing to an active Western Disturbance; IMD issues hailstorm and wind alert till April 9

Udaipur, April 6, 2026 – Udaipur and several parts of Rajasthan are experiencing a relief from the heat following the impact of an active and strong Western Disturbance. The minimum temperature in the State has dropped by more than 4 degrees Celsius with Mount Abu and Fatehpur recording the lowest temperature at 12.9°C. Minimum temperatures in 15 districts fell below 20°C.

Over the past 24 hours, the maximum temperature recorded in Udaipur was 31.8oC, down 4.5 degrees from normal, while the minimum temperature was recorded at 17.2, which was 2.4 degrees below normal.  

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), light to moderate rainfall accompanied by as thunderstorms and strong winds were recorded in several parts of the State over the past 24 hours. The western parts of Rajasthan witnessed scattered rainfall, while eastern regions experienced more intense precipitation. The maximum rainfall in the State was recorded in Bari town of Dholpur district at 40 mm.

IMD has issued an Orange alert in several districts of Rajasthan with chances of strong winds and hailstorms for April 6 and 7. On April 8 and 9, light rain is likely in the eastern districts of the State while the west may remain dry.
