Rajasthan Weather: Western Disturbance Abates, Dry Weather Ahead

Weather to remain dry for 4–5 days with rising temperatures; over the next 2–3 days, there is a possibility that the maximum temperature will increase by 3 to 4 degrees

Udaipur, April 9, 2026 - The impact of the Western Disturbance in the State ended late Wednesday (April 8) evening. A slight decrease in rainfall was observed starting yesterday. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), from Thursday the weather in the State is expected to remain mostly dry for the next 4–5 days.

Over the next 2–3 days, there is a possibility that the maximum temperature will increase by 3 to 4 degrees. Currently, owing to the impact of storms and rain, the maximum temperature in most parts of Rajasthan is being recorded 2 to 9 degrees below normal.

On Wednesday, the effect of the Western Disturbance was observed, especially in the northern parts of the Bharatpur and Jaipur divisions, where light rainfall occurred. This led to a drop of up to 8 degrees in daytime temperatures. At the same time, night temperatures dropped by up to 5 degrees, causing a slight chill to be felt during early morning and late night hours.

Over the past 24 hours, Udaipur recorded a maximum temperature of 31.1°C, down 5.9 degrees from normal, while the minimum temperature was up 0.4 degrees from normal at 20°C. Ajmer recorded a maximum temperature of 27.3°C and a minimum of 16.9°C. Alwar recorded a maximum temperature of 28.0°C and a minimum of 15.2°C. Mount Abu recorded a maximum temperature of 24.1°C and a minimum of 14.2°C. 

The highest rainfall was recorded in Shahpura (Jaipur) at 45 mm. Apart from this, Sikar received 42 mm of rainfall, while Alwar recorded 22.6 mm of rain.
