Udaipur, April 26, 2025 - Temperatures have sharply risen in the State, ahead of the activation of a new western disturbance. Extreme heat conditions are prevailing in western Rajasthan. In the past 24 hours, Pilani and Barmer recorded temperatures above 44°C. In most cities, temperatures have increased by 1 to 2 degrees. Jaisalmer, Churu, Dholpur, Phalodi, Jaipur, Alwar and Bikaner all recorded temperatures above 42°C.

According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), with a western disturbance expected to become active within 24 hours, there is a likelihood of thunderstorms and rain in some parts of Rajasthan, bringing a change in weather conditions.

As per the IMD, the western disturbance will become active over eastern Rajasthan from today, April 26. Owing to this, regions including Bharatpur, Kota and Jaipur divisions may see cloud cover and winds blowing at speeds of 40 to 50 km/hour. There are also chances of light rain at some places.

A temporary relief from the heat is expected over the next two weeks. Between May 1 and 4, thunderstorms and rain are likely, and both daytime and night-time temperatures are expected to stay below normal.

Today’s minimum temperature in Udaipur is recorded at 25°C and the maximum temperature is expected to go as high as 39°C. Throughout the day, the temperature is likely to hover around 38°C. For the next seven days, the temperature is expected to remain between 39°C and 42°C.
