Retreating Monsoon to Bid Befitting Farewell
There is an alert for rainfall activities in Rajasthan, Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Chhatisgarh between September 11 and 15
Udaipur Times, Sept 10, 2026 - As the monsoon retreats from the country this year, it will give a befitting farewell with a good amout of rainfall across many States. There is an alert for rainfall activities in Rajasthan apart from Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Chhatisgarh between September 11 and 15. The weather department has forecast very heavy rainfall in some districts. According to the India Meteorogological Department (IMD), the retreating monsoon may provide relief to several regions but heavy rains in some States could also lead to floods.
A cyclonic circulation over northern Haryana and an active Western Disturbance around northwestern Uttar Pradesh is responsible for the weather shift, the IMD has said. In addition, a low-pressure area is likely to form over the northern Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas on Thursday.
As per the forecast, Rajasthan may see a fair bit of rain between September 11 and 15. Western parts of the State may see heavy rainfall while moderate rainfall is expected in eastern Rajasthan.
