April moves towards a close with rising temps and a heatwave threat, thunderstorms expected after May 1 leading to some relief
Udaipur, April 28, 2025 – Heat has begun to intensify again across the State as the month nears its end. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), in the past 24 hours Dabok recorded the maximum temperature at 40.8°C, an increases by 0.7 degrees. The minimum temperature was 23.5°C, a drop of around 1.2 degrees. Today the minimum temperature in Udaipur is likely to stay around 24°C, while the maximum temperature might reach 42°C.
For the past week, daytime temperatures in the city have been fluctuating between 35.6°C and 37.6°C, while the monthly average for April stands at 37.8°C. Meanwhile, night-time temperatures remain below the normal of 21.1°C. Over the past four days, the minimum temperature has increased by 4.1 degrees — it was 16.4°C on March 23.
IMD forecasts dry weather over the next 3-4 days. With a possible 2-3 degree rise in temperature, there is a chance of heatwave conditions developing.
However, from May 1 onwards, thunderstorms and rain are expected, which may lead to a drop in temperatures.
