Scorching Heat Grips Rajasthan as Temperatures Cross 44°C

Severe heatwave in Rajasthan including Udaipur; India Meteorological Department (IMD) issues an alert for further rise in temperatures over the next 2–3 days

Udaipur, April 25, 2026 - Udaipur is experiencing a significant rise in temperatures with no relief even at night. The past two days data show a continuous increase in temperatures. Friday (April 24) recorded the maximum temperature at 39.6°C. A day earlier it was 39.0°C. The minimum temperature has also increased from 19.5°C to 22.6°C. An increase of about 1.1°C has been recorded in the average temperature.

Meanwhile, most cities across the State are witnessing a spike in the mercury owing to hot winds blowing in from the west. The maximum temperature in seven cities of the State was recorded above 43°C, while in eight cities it crossed 42°C.

The highest temperature of the day was recorded in Barmer at 44.1°C. Sri Ganganagar recorded 43.9°C, Jaisalmer and Churu 43.6°C, Bikaner 43.5°C, Pilani 43.4°C and Jodhpur reached 43°C.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert that the heat will further rise over the next 2–3 days. In the northwestern parts of the State, the maximum temperature may remain between 44°C and 45°C at some places.
