Storm Alert for Parts of Udaipur and Kota
IMD has forecast intense thunderstorm activity, strong winds and light to moderate rainfall post afternoon over the next 4–5 days in Udaipur and Kota divisions

Udaipur, May 23, 2025 - The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast that parts of Udaipur and Kota divisions are likely to experience intense thunderstorm activity, strong winds, and light to moderate rainfall post afternoon over the next 4–5 days. Jaipur, Bharatpur and Ajmer divisions may also see isolated thunderstorms and light rain between May 24 and 26. On May 23, afternoon thunderstorms and winds are likely in Jaipur, Bharatpur, and Bikaner divisions.
Overall, Rajasthan is currently reeling under a heatwave despite temporary relief whenever it rains. On May 22 maximum temperatures in several places approached 48°C. According to the IMD, the highest daytime temperature was recorded in Sri Ganganagar at 47.3°C. Additionally, eight cities reported temperatures above 45°C. These were Vanasthali at 46°C, Pilani at 45.3°C, Barmer at 45.8°C, Jaisalmer at 46°C, Phalodi at 45°C, Bikaner at 46°C, Churu at 46.1°C and Jaipur at 42.8°C.
