Once again, non seasonal rain, this time accompanied with high speed winds and hail storm took the City of Lakes by surprise.

In what was a fairly warm summer day with clouds overhead most of the day yesterday, the latter part of the evening was welcomed with sudden heavy rain and hail taking the city by surprise.
A tree got uprooted at Thokar Chauraha around 7.30pm due to the sudden heavy winds and rain. 4 people who were standing on the roadside in the vicinity of the tree got injured. All four of them, viz. Arjun singh, Home Guard; Badrilal Meena, Traffic Policeman; Chogalal and Gajendra (Civilians), were taken to MB hospital for medical treatment.
A lot of hoardings and flexes in many parts of the city were dismantled due to the wind and got stuck on electricity cables and buildings.
This untimely change in weather put the wheat farmers on the back-foot once again and caused damage to their fresh crop.
Road sides and cross roads across the city were filled with rain water due to the flooded potholes as well as breaks in the roads where renovation works were going on. This cause a lot of chaos resulting in traffic jams.
