Udaipur, June 9, 2025 - Recently, a Western Disturbance active in the region had temporarily brought down temperatures in the State, offering some respite from the heatwave conditions. However, the heat has now returned with intensity across the region. On June 8, all cities in Rajasthan recorded temperatures above 40°C.
During this time, seven cities reported temperatures exceeding 45°C, with Sri Ganganagar recording the highest at 47.4°C. Several cities experienced heatwave conditions. In the capital, Jaipur, the daytime temperature jumped by 1.7°C to reach 43.5°C, while the night temperature was recorded at 31.6°C.
Udaipur remained gripped by intense heat for the second consecutive day on June 8. The daytime temperature soared about 4°C above normal, rising by 1.1°C to reach 41.4°C. Even the night was 1.6°C warmer than usual, with the temperature recorded at 28°C. The average daytime and nighttime temperatures for June are usually 37.5°C and 26.4°C, respectively. Over the past week, the maximum temperature has increased by 7.4°C.
As per the India Meteorological Department, there is little chance of relief from the heat until June 11. Temperatures in Bikaner are expected to continue rising until June 11. In some places, the mercury may exceed 47°C. IMD has issued a heatwave warning for 12 districts: Ganganagar, Jaisalmer, Hanumangarh, Churu, Bikaner, Sawai Madhopur, Karauli, Jhunjhunu, Dholpur, Bharatpur and Alwar.
