June 13, 2025 - Rajasthan is currently experiencing a severe heatwave. Both day and night temperatures have increased by 4 to 5 degrees above normal. On June 12, for the second consecutive day, Udaipur city recorded the hottest day of the season with the temperature reaching 42.8°C. The previous day the maximum temperature was 42.5°C, showing an increase of 0.3°C.
The minimum temperature dropped slightly by 0.4°C, settling at 29°C, which is 2.6°C above the normal average of 26.4°C. Meanwhile, the daytime temperature was 5.3°C higher than June's normal average of 37.5°C.
On June 12, 17 cities in the State recorded maximum daytime temperatures above 44°C. The highest was in Sri Ganganagar, where the temperature reached 47.8°C. Additionally, eight cities recorded minimum nighttime temperatures above 30°C, with Pratapgarh being the highest at 32.6°C.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), parts of Kota, Udaipur and Bharatpur divisions are likely to witness thunder, dust storms and light rainfall starting from June 14-15. This may provide some relief from the heat. In the Jodhpur and Bikaner divisions, thunder, dust storms and light rain are also expected post June 15 afternoon.
In the Bikaner division and surrounding areas, strong dusty winds are expected over the next two days.
