Udaipur Days Get Colder; Mavath Likely in State
Mawath rain likely between Jan 22–24 owing to Western Dsturbance; fog alert for northern regions and more rain chances till Jan 28
Udaipur, Jan 22, 2026 - After crossing 10°C in recent days, the minimum temperature in Udaipur has fallen again by nearly 2 degrees within two days. Currently, temperatures remain close to seasonal averages.
The city witnessed a drop in day-time temperatures on Wednesday (January 21). According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), on Wednesday the maximum temperature recorded was 25°C, while the night temperature dropped to 8.5°C. A day earlier, the maximum temperature was 24.4°C and the minimum was 9.1°C. As a result, day-time temperatures rose slightly, while night-time temperatures declined marginally.
Cloud formations over the Arabian Sea may trigger rainfall in the region. Owing to the activation of a Western Disturbance, there is a possibility of mavath in the State between January 22 and 24. Another Western Disturbance is expected to be effective from January 26 to 28.
On January 22, light rainfall is likely in Jodhpur, Bikaner divisions, and the Shekhawati region. On January 23, Jaipur, Ajmer and Bharatpur divisions may experience light-to-moderate rainfall.
Dense fog is expected in the northern parts of the State on January 24 and 25, while light-to-moderate rainfall is possible in Jaipur, Bharatpur and Bikaner divisions on January 26 and 27.
