Udaipur Logs 10 mm Rain in 13 Hours, Second Coolest in State

Udaipur, July 3, 2025 - Udaipur city and its surrounding areas witnessed good amount of rain on Wednesday, July 2, with the city experiencing light-to-moderate rainfall for almost 13 hours, from 4:00 am until 5:00 pm. According to the Meteorological Department, the city recorded 10 mm of rain, Dabok recorded 22 mm of rain while the Water Resources Department reported 43 mm of rain in Vallabhnagar.

Because of the rain, both daytime and nighttime temperatures were recorded at 25.7°C. The maximum temperature dropped by 5.7°C, settling at 25.7°C for the first time this monsoon season. The minimum temperature saw a slight increase of 0.1°C. After Sirohi (24.1°C), Udaipur was the second coolest city in Rajasthan.

A circulation system has formed over southeastern Rajasthan and nearby region and the monsoon trough line is also passing through southern Rajasthan. Owing to this several districts are experiencing continuous heavy to very heavy rainfall. South-eastern and southern parts of the State are witnessing heavy to very heavy, and in some places, extremely heavy rainfall.

In the past 24 hours, many areas received intense rainfall, with the highest recorded in Bassi (Chittorgarh) at 12 inches (1 foot).

There is a strong possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall in Udaipur division districts in the next few days. Additionally, most parts of eastern Rajasthan are expected to experience light to moderate rains, with isolated heavy showers likely to continue for the next one week.
