Udaipur Records Coldest Night of Season; Mercury Dips to 5.3°C
Weather experts indicate possibility of frost in the coming days and warned of possible further drop in temperatures over the next 2-3 days
Udaipur, Jan 7, 2026 – Udaipur reels under extreme cold conditions and the night between Monday and Tuesday was recorded as the coldest of the season so far in the city.
On Tuesday (January 6), the minimum temperature dropped sharply to 5.3°C, which is 2.3 degrees below the normal average of 7.6°C. The maximum temperature rose slightly by 1.1 degrees to 20.3°C, but even this remained 4.2 degrees lower than the January average of 24.6°C. A day earlier on Monday, the minimum temperature recorded was 7.6°C and maximum was 19.2°C. Therefore, there was a dip of night-time temperatures by 2.3 degrees.
Weather experts have indicated the possibility of frost in the coming days and warned of possible further drop in temperatures over the next 2-3 days.
Across the State, dense-to-very dense fog and cold persist. In most regions, day-time temperatures have remained 2 to 8 degrees below normal. The maximum temperature has been recorded between 14°C and 26°C, while the minimum temperature ranged between 5°C and 10°C.
