Udaipur Sees January-Like Chill Amid Continuous Rain
IMD reports day temperature 11°C below normal; rainfall intensity likely to ease in coming two days
Udaipur, Oct 29, 2025 – A low-pressure system over the Arabian Sea along with a circulation system over northeastern Rajasthan and surrounding areas plus a cyclone in the Bay of Bengal have brought unseasonal rainfall to Rajasthan. Several districts in the State, including Kota, Bundi, Baran, Bharatpur, Bhilwara and Udaipur, logged record-breaking rainfall in the past 24 hours. The current situation is expected to persist for the next two days although intensity of the rainfall activity will decrease from today.
In Udaipur, incessant rainfall led to a rise in water levels of the different lakes resulting in the re-opening of the gates of Fateh Sagar. Swaroop Sagar has started overflowing again while Udai Sagar gates were yesterday raised by three feet each.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), yesterday Udaipur recorded maximum temperature at 20.2°C and minimum at 18.2°C. A day earlier, the maximum was 21.8°C and the minimum 20.6°C. Thus, the day temperature is 11 degrees below normal, a level usually seen in January.
