Udaipur, May 12, 2025 – An active Western Disturbance brought rain accompanied by thunder yesterday (May 11) afternoon. It rained briefly but helped in bringing down the temperatures of a warm morning.

The temperature, which has remained low for the past few days, is still 5 degrees below normal.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the maximum temperature on May 11 was 35.2°C, which is 4.8 degrees below normal, while the minimum temperature was 27°C, which is 1.2 degrees below normal. On May 10, the maximum was 33°C and the minimum was 24.9°C. Thus, there was an increase of 2.2°C in the daytime temperature and a decrease of 2.1°C in the night-time temperature.

Conditions were expected to return to normal on May 11 but did not. Rain and a drop in temperature are also expected today, May 12.

For the next 2 to 3 days, there is a possibility of light rainfall with thunder in some areas during the afternoon. In western Rajasthan, dust storms and rain activity are expected to decrease from tomorrow, May 13, and in eastern Rajasthan, from May 14. As a result, temperatures may rise by 2 to 4 degrees. In border areas of western Rajasthan, the maximum temperature may reach 44-45°C, marking the beginning of intense heat.

Light rain occurred in some parts of eastern Rajasthan, while the weather remained dry in western Rajasthan. The highest maximum temperature in the State was recorded in Barmer at 40.4°C, while the lowest minimum temperature was in Alwar at 20.2°C.
