Weather: Western Disturbance Impact to Last Till Oct 23

Sporadic rainfall in Mewar region takes everyone by surprise

Udaipur, October 22, 2024 - The Mewar region experienced sudden rainfall yesterday, October 21, taking everyone by surprise. The monsoon has retreated more than two weeks ago but sporadic rainfall is continuing in the region at regular intervals. Udaipur experienced rain too. The day was overcast and by the afternoon, there was sporadic drizzle across the city. 

Meteorological Department sources say the weather in the past couple of days has been influenced by an active disturbance in the Arabian Sea disturbance. The western disturbance has led to rainfall accompanied by strong winds and thunder in several areas of Rajasthan with some parts also experiencing hailstorms. This impact is expected to last until Wednesday.

Temperatures recorded indicate day-time temperatures dropping by half a degree and night-time temperatures rising by two degrees. On October 21, Dabok center recorded a maximum temperature of 32.3°C and a minimum of 21.5°C. A day earlier the maximum temperature was 32.8°C, and the minimum was 19.7°C.
