Udaipur, March 16, 2026 - Owing to the activation of a Western Disturbance in North India, Rajasthan is experiencing a change in weather conditions. For today, March 16, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) Jaipur office has issued a rain alert for 10 districts in the State.

IMD has forecast thunderstorms, strong winds and light rain in some areas of Jodhpur and Bikaner divisions on March 18. Further, between March 19–20, parts of the Jodhpur, Bikaner, Ajmer, Jaipur and Bharatpur divisions are likely to witness thunderstorms with strong winds and light rainfall.

The Western Disturbance caused a drop in daytime temperatures on Sunday (March 15), bringing temporary relief from the rising heat over several parts of Rajasthan. Late Saturday night, light drizzle was reported in multiple districts including Jaipur, Jhunjhunu and Bikaner. The sudden change in weather caused night temperatures to drop by around 2–3 degrees.

Owing to scattered storms and rainfall, many cities recorded a 1–2 degrees drop in daytime temperatures.

Over the past 24 hours, the maximum temperature recorded in Udaipur was 35°C, a rise of 2.2 degrees above normal, while the minimum temperature recorded in the past 24 hours was 17.8°C, which was 2 degrees higher than normal.

The minimum temperature in Udaipur today is likely to be around 17°C, while the maximum temperature may reach up to 34°C. Through the day, the temperature is expected to hover around 31°C, but it may feel like 30°C due to humidity and wind conditions.
